One of the most important figures of English literary modernism, Woolf rejected the conventional forms of her Victorian predecessors to experiment with shifting perspectives and, eventually, to work entirely within her characters’ consciousnesses. Her intimate diary entries, spanning four decades, guide this exhibition, which explores the private life and creative work of an influential modernist writer committed to charting all those moments of being that, together, form an inner life.
